How to use FTP to access your Minecraft Server Files

In this Video Tutorial & Written Tutorial, will quickly learn how to FTP to access your Minecraft Server Files at Host The Game. So, let’s dig in!

After you make a successful purchase with Host The Game, you’ll receive a bunch of emails from us out of which one of the email would contain credentials for you server Multicraft and FTP.

You can FTP in two ways, first via Multicraft and second by using any FTP client (Will use FileZilla in this tutorial)

Method #1

Paste the Multicraft URL which you’ve received in your in your browser and you’ll be on a welcome screen.

multicraft FTP

Now, enter the credentials (Username & Password ) of your Multicraft which you’ve received from us and your screen will look like this, then first Click on Files followed by FTP File Access

multicraft ftp

After Clicking on File Access, you will get on your FTP details page. Please ensure to copy your Host (IP address), Port number and username as you might require them incase if you’re planning to FTP using an FTP client, if not, then enter the password and click on Login

multicraft ftp

Once you’ve successfully logged in, all you gotta do is click on Click on Upload and you’ll be able to upload your files. P.S Multicraft has a restriction of 2MB per file. So it’s highly advised to use an FTP client.

That’s about it. Now will look at Method #2 that is using an FTP client to connect to your server.

Method #2

To begin with this tutorial, make sure you have FileZilla Client installed in your computer. If you don’t have FileZilla installed then please click the link below and download FileZilla Client for their website:

https://filezilla-project.org/download.php

Once the installation is complete then proceed with rest of the tutorial.

Remember I asked you to copy your Username, Password, Host and Port number earlier, will need that to connect to your server using an FTP client, so make sure that the credentials are correct.

If you followed the guide correctly then you should be able to connect & upload everything via FTP to your minecraft server hosting with Host The Game.

That’s all we have for you in this tutorial. Please leave your comment and feedback regarding this tutorial and if you need me or my team to make any specific Minecraft tutorial for you.

How To Make A Bungee Cord Server – Video Tutorial #7

In this tutorial will learn how to make a bungee cord server & how to setup a minecraft hub server.

To begin with, you’ll require 3 servers in order to setup a minecraft hub server. Two servers will run minecraft & one server will run Bungee Cord alone. Bungee Cord only manages which server you connect to. In this tutorial, will make a PVP server & a Hub server.

Setting up:

You’ll need to use spigot, you can find to download link for spigot at the end of the tutorial. Also, you’ll need to edit your bukkit.yml file. You can use any text editor to edit but in this tutorial will use Notepad++. Change the following settings inside bukkit.yml file.

  • connection-throttle: -1

Now open server.properties & change the following line:

  • online-mode=false
  • server-port: 25511

Now will go to our hub folder & open server.properties, change the following line to:

  • server-port: 25555
  • online-mode=false

Now will go to the bukkit.yml inside the hub folder and change the following line to:

  • connection-throttle: -1

Now will open the Bungee Cord folder and  edit config.yml & change the following lines:

  • Change md_5 to your minecraft player name.
  • Change max_player to any number you want, in this case, will change it to 10.

Now will go to the server: section on line 34 in config.yml and edit as follows:

Copy over the lobby section from line 35 to 38 and make a duplicate since we require two servers. Will call the first server as Hub & second server as PVP and use the following settings:

  • address: localhost: 25555 (For Hub Server) (Change the localhost to the IP address & port allocated by your hosting provider)
  • address: localhost: 25588 (For PVP Server) (Change the localhost to the IP address & port allocated by your hosting provider)

Now change the motd on line 29 to anything you want. Also, change the port to 25565 on line 20. Change the fullback_server to your first server, in this example, will change that to Hub.

  • fullback_hub: Hub

The default server will Hub so will change the default_server to Hub on line 24:

  • default_server: Hub

Now, the most important setting is the forced_hosts settings, please ensure to set this up correctly. In this example, we choose Hub and here are the settings we will be replacing on line 26

  •  Replace pvp.md5.net: pvp to localhost: 25555: Hub & add another line just below line 26 localhost: 25588: PVP

Once done, click on Start.bat file which is located inside your Bungee Cord folder, now go to the Hub folder and PVP folder and do the same.

Now open up your Minecraft and you’ll be able to connect to your Hub server successfully if you have followed the tutorial. To do a check, type the command /server and you’ll get a message displaying “You are currently connected to Hub” & now type /server PVP to jump to the PVP server, make sure to change your port in the Bungee Cord to make sure they are running on the same port.

That’s about it. If you need any further help or support then leave your comments and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
